Room 27 News

Dear Parents, Next week, your child will be asked to present a 2 - 3 minute speech all about themselves and what makes them special, as part of our Speaking and Listening program. Our class presentations will start on the 3rd of March.   We will be assessing them on their volume, speed, voice, body language, eye contact and their content. We have sent home an "All About Me" sheet for the students to complete before their presentation.  Please see the below timetable for your child’s scheduled speech. Hello to the students and families of Room 27! We have had a busy first few weeks settling into the routines of Year Three and our new classroom. Thank you to the parents and caregivers who came along to the recent Information Evening. It was wonderful to see some familiar faces in the room, and to meet some new ones! I hope you found it informative and I look forward to teaching your children this year. Firstly, I would like to say a big congratulations to Olivia and Azhaf for being nominated as our Student Councillors for Semester One. We look forward to having you represent our class! This term, we will be focusing on covering key concepts in Literacy and Numeracy. The students have been developing their reading comprehension skills, gaining exposure to a variety of texts during our Reading Block. Literacy Pro can be accessed through Scholastic Learning Zone by clicking on the link at the top of the Room 27 blog, or by clicking here . After clicking the link to access Scholastic Learning Zone, students can select 'Australia' as their country. On the following page, students can type in 2w3k as the Org ID and click submit. This will bring them to the login page. All students have their own username and password, these have now been sent home. Through Scholastic Learning Zone, students can access books to read online in 'Literacy Pro Library' and search for quizzes of books they have read in 'Literacy Pro'.

Hello to the families and students of Room 16! We are almost at the end of Term 4! What a wonderful year we have had together in Room 16. It has been a pleasure to be your teacher and I am very grateful for all of the memories we now have. You have worked very hard this year and I wish you all the best for Year 3. The Room 16 Dance Party was a lot of fun and it was great to see everyone bust a move! A big congratulations to Matilda and Roma, the recipients of the Book Award and Class Award. You should be very proud of your efforts. Well done to the students who received Merit Certificates and Year Level Challenge Certificates during the Junior and Final assemblies. Keep up the great work! Great work to the students that achieved a 100% return rate on their Library books! Well done for being so responsible.  Congratulations on a fantastic year, Room 16. I hope you have enjoyed Year 2! I wish you a happy and safe holidays.

Hello to the families and students of Room 16! In Term 4, we have been focusing on revising content that we have covered throughout the year in Literacy and Numeracy. We will also be continuing our Geography focus from last term in HASS, looking at key features of Australia and Oceania. In Science, we have been learning about Earth and Space, focusing on natural and man made materials and the water cycle. In Health, our focus this term has been learning about Protective Behaviours. This term, our dancing lessons will be held on Thursday before lunch and the end of year Dance Party will be held later in the term. Room 16 will also have Swimming Lessons from 9:00-10:30am every day in Week 7 and 8. Please ensure that students come to school with their bathers, goggles, thongs and towels each day during these two weeks. As we have our lessons first thing in the morning, students are able to come to school wearing their bathers under their uniform and change back into their uniform when we ...
