Congratulations to these students for receiving their first Literacy Pro certificates! You should be very proud of your efforts. Keep reading, Room 27! You are doing a great job.
From Term 2 onwards, the Year Two Practice Time sheets and Spelling lists will be available on the blog every Monday afternoon. Students are asked to print the Practice Time sheet and glue it into their book as well as complete their Spelling practice for the week. This will be following the routine we did in class during Term 1. If students do not have access to a printer, they may ask me to print a copy of the sheet or write the answers straight into their book. Practice Time sheets and Spelling will be checked and marked in class every Monday. Students will also swap their home reader every Monday afternoon. Thank you for your ongoing support.
In Term Two, the Super Scientist challenge will be in the form of an experiment. All students have been invited to research any experiment and present their information to the class in a short presentation (2 to 5 minutes) . Students are allowed to use resources such as posters, charts, props and PowerPoint to support their presentation. The Year Three class presentations will take place in Week 6 of Term 2. Each Year Three class will select their finalists and they will move forward to the Year Level Super Scientist challenge. We look forward to seeing all the wonderful presentations! If you have any questions about the Super Scientist Challenge, please come and see me. Thank you for your ongoing support.
Well done to all students for your tremendous efforts during our Poetry Recital week. I was very impressed by the variety of poems that were presented to the class. Congratulations, Jensen and Heidi for being chosen to present at the Year 3 Poetry Recital Final, you both did a fantastic job! Everyone looked wonderful in their Book Week costumes and we had so much fun at the Book Parade. It was a magical day in Room 16! In Literacy, we have been learning all about how to write an Information Report. The students have been very busy researching an insect of their choice to write about in their report. We have discovered some amazing facts during this project. Did you know that some species of ladybugs are carnivores? The students have been very busy designing posters for the upcoming Wattle Grove Primary School Fete. This will be happening in Week 2 of Term 4. Room 16 will be having a 'Guess the Lollies in the Jar' stall, keep an eye on the blog ...
