Room 27 News

Room 3, 21and 27 will be hosting the Senior Assembly on Friday 10 th of September 2021 (Week 8). All students will be receiving a copy of song lyrics this week to rehearse at home. Additionally, if students have opted to participate in a speaking role, they will receive a script to rehearse as well. We will also be rehearsing in class. Our assembly will be themed around ‘Science Week’, therefore, students are encouraged to dress up as scientists on the day. If this is not possible, we ask that students wear neutral clothing such as black, grey or white for the assembly. Students will be able to arrive at school in their costume. Please ensure that students have their school uniforms in their bags to change into after our assembly.  In order to start on time, we ask all students come to their classroom at 8:20am. Congratulations to the Merit Certificate recipients of Term 2! You are all superstars, keep up the great work. Well done Annamaria for achieving Most Improved in the Year Level Challenge! Well done Judah for getting your Blue Certificate in Literacy Pro. You are also well on your way to reading 100,000 words. Amazing! This term we will be focusing on completing Literacy Pro quizzes. Remember, if you read a book you can complete the quiz on Literacy Pro! The more quizzes you complete, the more certificates you earn. Keep up the great work, Room 27!

In Term Two, the Super Scientist challenge will be in the form of an experiment. All students have been invited to research any experiment and present their information to the class in a short presentation (2 to 5 minutes) . Students are allowed to use resources such as posters, charts, props and PowerPoint to support their presentation. The Year Three class presentations will take place in Week 6 of Term 2. Each Year Three   class will select their finalists and they will move forward to the Year Level Super Scientist challenge. We look forward to seeing all the wonderful presentations! Hello to the students and families of Room 27. Welcome back to Term 2! I hope you had a wonderful holiday. We have a very exciting term ahead of us, I will be sure to update you with the things we learn over the next few weeks. A reminder that NAPLAN will take place in Weeks 4 and 5 of this term. Year 3 students will be tested on their reading, writing, spelling, grammar and mathematics skills. Please note: Year 3 students will be completing the writing test on paper. The reading, language conventions and numeracy tests will be completed online.
