Term 2 Update

Hello to the students and families of Room 27. Welcome back to Term 2! I hope you had a wonderful holiday. We have a very exciting term ahead of us, I will be sure to update you with the things we learn over the next few weeks.

A reminder that NAPLAN will take place in Weeks 4 and 5 of this term. Year 3 students will be tested on their reading, writing, spelling, grammar and mathematics skills. Please note: Year 3 students will be completing the writing test on paper. The reading, language conventions and numeracy tests will be completed online. Congratulations to the students that have been busy reading books and taking quizzes on Literacy Pro! We have made great progress in Term 1. This term, I would like to see all students working towards achieving quiz points so they can receive a certificate. If students earn 25 points they will receive their first certificate in class. If students earn over 100 points they are awarded certificates at the senior assembly. Our goal will be to complete 100 quizzes with a pass rate of over 90% by the end of Term 2!

We are looking forward to another fantastic term in Room 27! Please keep an eye on the blog for future updates.

As per the letter sent home to parents on Monday, all assemblies have been cancelled until further notice. Merit Certificates and specialist awards will continue to be awarded and parents of those children will be contacted. Awards will continue to be presented in the undercover area at which only the recipients will be present. Thank you for your understanding.

Congratulations to the students who have received Literacy Pro Certificates this term. You should be very proud of all your hard work! Our goal is for everyone to earn their Blue Certificate by the end of term.  Well done Monet for receiving the first Merit Certificate in our class for Term 2. Keep up the great work!
