Super Scientist Competition

This semester, students are asked to present a short (2 min) report on a topic for the Super Scientist Competition. A report is not an experiment. Reports should be an explanation of a topic from a scientific perspective such as an animal, life-cycle, planet, states of matter or any topic that your child chooses. Children are asked to have their reports prepared and ready to present by Week 5.

Room 16 Assembly

Due to Room 16 participating in Swimming lessons during Week 5 and 6, our assembly has  been rescheduled from Week 5 to Week 8. The assembly will be the final senior assembly of the year and will take place on Friday the 6th of December. We hope you can attend this special event.

Welcome back to Term 4! I would thank to thank all of you that have sent donations of lollies and jars for our stall at the Wattle Grove Primary School Student Fete. The students and I are extremely appreciative of your generosity and our stall is almost ready to go! We will be sure to update you on the success of our stall next week. If you would like to make a donation, there is still time as the fete will be on Wednesday next week. This term, we will be focusing on a number of different concepts. In Literacy, we will be revising concepts that we have learned throughout the year and also developing our Persuasive and Narrative writing. In Numeracy, we will be focusing on Statistics and Probability, Length, Volume and Capacity, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division. In Science, we will be taking part in some interesting experiments to revise concepts that we have learned throughout the year. In HASS, we will be learning about Civics and Citizenship. Finally, in Health...

Student Fete

The Wattle Grove Primary School Student Fete will be held on Wednesday of Week 2, Term 4. The fete will commence at 1:00pm and finish at 2:15pm. All classes are running their own stall and can choose how they would like to spend their profits. Room 16 has decided that we will have a ‘Guess the Lollies in the Jar’ competition, priced at 50c for one guess and $1 for three guesses. The students would like to use the profits from our stall to purchase new books and games for our class. We are seeking donations of packets of lollies and jars to assist with creating our stall. We need at least three large jars and a variety of lollies such as Skittles, gummy worms, sour straps and small lollies that are individually wrapped. If you would like to assist, that would be greatly appreciated! We will be accepting donations at all times and keeping them in the class store room up until the fete. Please feel free to come and see Miss Gibbons if you have any questions or require further information....

Well done to all students for your tremendous efforts during our Poetry Recital week. I was very impressed by the variety of poems that were presented to the class. Congratulations, Jensen and Heidi for being chosen to present at the Year 3 Poetry Recital Final, you both did a fantastic job! Everyone looked wonderful in their Book Week costumes and we had so much fun at the Book Parade. It was a magical day in Room 16! In Literacy, we have been learning all about how to write an Information Report. The students have been very busy researching an insect of their choice to write about in their report. We have discovered some amazing facts during this project. Did you know that some species of ladybugs are carnivores? The students have been very busy designing posters for the upcoming Wattle Grove Primary School Fete. This will be happening in Week 2 of Term 4. Room 16 will be having a 'Guess the Lollies in the Jar' stall, keep an eye on the blog ...
