Welcome back to a wonderful new year in Room 16! I am very happy to see so many familiar faces and to welcome the new members of our classroom. We are going to have a fantastic year and I am already so impressed by the motivation and amazing teamwork blossoming amongst the students. Over the past three weeks, we have been very busy establishing routines for the year and learning some brand new topics. Here is a snapshot of what we have been up to. Activities that get the students up and moving are always a favourite. Here you can see some very busy members of our class gathering information about Australia. There were information cards placed around the room for students to find, they enjoyed the hunt to complete their sheet! Last week, students at Wattle Grove Primary School came to school dressed in Australia themed costumes for Aussie Day. Donations were collected to raise money for the flood victims of Queensland. You all looked superb! Our focus for Health i...

Congratulations to the students who received Merit Certificates during the Junior Assembly in Week 3. You should be very proud of all your hard work!

Super Scientist Competition

Earlier this week, students were allocated a day to present their Super Scientist presentation in Week 4. Students are asked to present a short (2 min) report on a scientific topic of their choice. I have created a template that may be used for planning the report, I provided a copy of this to the class this afternoon and students were given some time to research a topic and begin their planning. I have attached a copy of the Super Scientist Report Template  here . The presentation may be in the form of a PowerPoint presentation or a poster, however, the most important aspect is the delivery and explanation of your child’s chosen topic. Best of luck, Room 16! I am very excited to see your presentations!
