Term 4 Update

Welcome back to Term 4! 

It is going to be a very busy term as we begin our preparation for Year 3. We will be revising topics we have learned throughout the year and there are a number of exciting events happening in the next few weeks. 

  • Every Monday we have dance lessons straight after lunch with Room 14. This may change when swimming begins. 
  • Swimming lessons are scheduled to start later in the term, notes with more information will be sent home soon. 
  • Homework will be sent home every week on Monday and is due on Friday. 
  • The Super Scientist competition for Term 4 is scheduled for Week 4. Students are asked to present a short (2 minute) report on a scientific topic of their choice. More information about Super Scientist will be sent home this week. 
  • The school will be hosting an Arts Festival on Tuesday the 23rd of October from 4:30-6:30pm, it would be wonderful to see students and families there.

Practice Time

From Term 2 onwards, the Year Two Practice Time sheets and Spelling lists will be available on the blog every Monday afternoon. Students are asked to print the Practice Time sheet and glue it into their book as well as complete their Spelling practice for the week. This will be following the routine we did in class during Term 1. If students do not have access to a printer, they may ask me to print a copy of the sheet or write the answers straight into their book. Practice Time sheets and Spelling will be checked and marked in class every Monday. Students will also swap their home reader every Monday afternoon. Thank you for your ongoing support.

Super Scientist

In Term Two, the Super Scientist challenge will be in the form of an experiment. All students have been invited to research any experiment and present their information to the class in a short presentation (2 to 5 minutes) . Students are allowed to use resources such as posters, charts, props and PowerPoint to support their presentation. The Year Three class presentations will take place in Week 6 of Term 2. Each Year Three   class will select their finalists and they will move forward to the Year Level Super Scientist challenge. We look forward to seeing all the wonderful presentations!
