Term 3 Update
Hello to the families and students of Room 16! We have been working very hard over the past few weeks, here are some photographs of what we have been up to this term.
In Numeracy, the students have been enjoying a 'hands-on' approach to learning new Measurement and Geometry skills. We have been working on telling time to the minute, investigating units of time and identifying and comparing angles. We were astounded by the number of right angles that were outside of our classroom! As a class, we have also been practising our mental mathematics skills. Times table challenges are a favourite amongst the students, especially the game you can see below where students quiz their partner on a times table and trade cards when they get it correct.
Well done to the students who received Merit Certificates at the last Senior Assembly. Keep up the amazing efforts!

In History, we have been learning all about the historical significance of celebrations and commemorations in Australia and around the world. We have also been learning about the importance of symbols and emblems of Australia, including those found in our local community.
In Science, we have been investigating heat and exploring how it can be transferred through conduction. As a class, we have been completing a number of experiments and using a thermometer to measure the effects of heat on different materials. We will be working on an interesting project at the end of the term which the students are very excited about!
Congratulations to the students who have received Literacy Pro certificates this term. You should be very proud of all your hard work! We are aiming for all students to earn their Blue Certificate by the end of the term. Keep up the good work!
Great work for all of your motivation and persistence, Room 16. You have been working very hard this term and I am always pleased with your enthusiasm to learn and tackle new concepts! Make sure you keep an eye on the blog for future updates, as we have some exciting things to look forward to in the next few weeks.
