End of Term Update

Hello to the families and students of Room 16! First of all, I would like to thank you for the warm welcome into your classroom. It has been wonderful to meet and get to know you all. We have had a very busy past couple of weeks, here are some photos of what we have been up to.





In Mathematics, we have been focusing on Money, Fractions and Slides, Flips and Turns. As a class, we have really enjoyed incorporating ‘hands-on’ activities when learning about these topics. A particular favourite was Fraction Bingo, where students rolled a fraction using a pair of dice and identified it on their grid.


We have also been very lucky to have two incursions this term. Our visit to the Life Education Van was fantastic and the students learned all about making healthy choices and being a good friend. We also had the First Aid Focus incursion where the students learned about what to do in an emergency. Our trainer, Claire, was very impressed that everyone knew their address and phone number. Well done! 


A big thank you to everyone who came along to Learning Journeys, it was fantastic to see so many friendly faces in the room. The students really enjoyed the opportunity to show everything they have achieved this term, we hope you enjoyed it too!

As per the letter sent home to parents on Monday, all assemblies have been cancelled until further notice. Merit Certificates and specialist awards will continue to be awarded and parents of those children will be contacted. Term 2 Update

Hello to the students and families of Room 27. Welcome back to Term 2! I hope you had a wonderful holiday. We have a very exciting term ahead of us, I will be sure to update you with the things we learn over the next few weeks. A reminder that NAPLAN will take place in Weeks 4 and 5 of this term. Year 3 students will be tested on their reading, writing, spelling, grammar and mathematics skills. Please note: Year 3 students will be completing the writing test on paper. The reading, language conventions and numeracy tests will be completed online. Congratulations to the students who have received Literacy Pro Certificates this term. You should be very proud of all your hard work! Our goal is for everyone to earn their Blue Certificate by the end of term.  Well done Monet for receiving the first Merit Certificate in our class for Term 2. Keep up the great work!
