WORK PACKAGES – Term 1, Week 9

The following Work Package has been created to assist children at home with their learning. Please click on the picture below to access the weekly plan. Activities can be found under the resource column. Click on the blue text to access additional resources. Please ensure your child has logged into Studyladder prior to completing activities, to ensure their work is saved.

To access Studyladder, please click the link to our class login page at the top of the blog. From there, students can locate their name and username then input their password to login. Students can also login to their account from the Studyladder website  using their username that is displayed on our class login page and their password.

Week 8 Update

Hello to the families and students of Room 16! Here are some photos of what we have been up to in Term 1. In Mathematics, we have been learning all about 2D and 3D shapes. The students really enjoyed an activity where we created 3D shapes out of coloured paper. Then, we identified the attributes of each shape such as how many faces, edges and vertices it had. In addition to learning about shapes, we have been focusing on fractions, number patterns, length and problem solving. In Big Write, we have been focusing on persuasive writing. Each week, the students write a persuasive text on a given topic. We have been focusing on forming an opinion and supporting arguments in order to persuade an audience. The students have also been learning how to plan and structure their writing into paragraphs. Congratulations to the students who received Merit Certificates in Week 7. Learning At Home

The Education Department has set up an online site, called, 'Learning At Home', for those at home during these times to continue their learning. Resources are available across all Year Levels and Learning Areas, for students to continue their learning while at home.   https://www.education.wa.edu.au/learning-at-home

Junior Assembly Update

As per the letter sent home to parents on Monday, all assemblies have been cancelled until further notice. Merit Certificates and specialist awards will continue to be awarded and parents of those children will be contacted. Awards will continue to be presented in the undercover area at which only the recipients will be present. Thank you for your understanding.
